The indigenes of the sleeping community of Ezi Orsu in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, are now living in fear following the alleged reckless and inhuman attitude of their tradition ruler, Eze Victor Ijeoma.
Nigeria Newspoint investigation reveals that the traditional ruler who is reportedly not upto five years on the throne, has become a terror to his domain, attacking and maiming his subjects with his family members.
It will be recalled that Nigeria Newspoint had reported in its weekend edition, how the monarch had, in alleged collaboration with his children matcheted two brothers from Deruo family: Chigemezu and Onyemazuwa.
The two brothers were recently allegedly attacked, according to their father, Humphrey Deruo because they had gone to clear a farmland called Obohia, when the monarch sent his children to attack them with matchets and broken bottle over the piece of land.
The ownership of the land according to Humphrey, disclosed has been a subject matter in an Oguta High Court for some years now but the Eze has refused to appear in court.
“We have been in court with Eze Victor Ijeoma over this piece of land which was given to him on lease. The lease date has expired but he has refused bluntly to the land”, he lamented.
Some of the villagers who spoke under anonymity have revealed that Eze Ijeoma has not only became a torn in their flesh but has become a terror who cannot be challenged by anyone in the area.
According to them, the traditional ruler is in the alleged business of violently attacking his subjects with his children, especially Nonso Ijeoma, one of his sons who he allegedly uses to do the thuggery job.
Obofia land, the main cause of the problem, it was gathered belongs to the Okorochukwu Ukachukwu family, according to Humphrey whose two sons are dangerously wounded and hospitalized.
“My sons; Chigemezu was matcheted by Eze Ijeoma on his tigh and eyes (with broken bottle by Nonso his son) and Mazuwa was matcheted on his hand, which nearly fell off. Yet on November 16, Eze Ijeoma brought police men to detain me uptill November 17 when I was released from police cell after allegedly paying huge sum”, Deruo landed.
It was gathered also that the Orsu Monarch went ahead to arrest the following persons, Uwaezoke Ukado, Dan Osai and Hart Osai all of who allegedly paid huge sums to bail themselves from Police Headquarters, Owerri Imo State capital.
Humphrey disclosed that his Techno Telephone set and some cash were still with the police at Owerri Headquarters.
Some of the villagers who urged Gov. Rochas Anayo Okorocha and Eze Imo, HRM, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri to call Eze Ijeoma to order, also said they want his status as a royal father serious reviewed, alleging that he does not merit it. “Ezi Orsu is under siege, we need help, urgently”, they lamented.
Nigeria Newspoint further gathered that the Orsu Monarch and his son Nonso have allegedly attacked various individuals from Umudara and Umundaruike kindreds with matchets.
