Determined to strengthen the inter-party Advisory Council (1PAC) Imo State Chapter the new executive of 1PAC led by its Chairman Hon. Duru Benneth Onyekachi has unfold plans that will move the association to the next level
The IPAC Chairman while addressing the executives during their inaugural meeting at Concord Hotel Owerri said that IPAC will soon organize a political summit for all the political parties in the state which he said that will offer an opportunity for party candidates in all the elective positions to showcase their plans, programmes for Imo indigenes.
Hon. Duru Onyekachi said that his administration is making arrangement with European Union for retraining of all the state party chairman to enable them function effectively, adding that IPAC is never an opposition to government rather it is an organization that guide all the registered political parties in Nigeria.
Hon Onyekachi stated that IPAC will like to be part of governance and take part on government activities, ceremony to enable them contribute their own quota towards the development of the state and urged the state Governor to assist them on the area of provision of secretariat for the organization.
Onyekachi also disclosed that IPAC will work in synergy with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and !mo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) in order to ensure credible, free and fair election come 2019 general election, noting that IPAC has role to play for the forthcoming election.
In his speech, the Adviser to State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha on Political Affairs; Hon. Steve Orji thanked members of IPAC
for their conduct during their election and for ensuring that those that has the pedigree to deliver emerge as the new executive of the organization.
Hon. Orji assured them that he will use his position to ensure that
IPAC establish a good relationship with the state Government while
promising to channel their problems and challenges to the Governor.
Also speaking the ISIEC Chairman, Hon. Ethelbert Ibeabuchi expressed the readiness of the commission to partner with IPAC and
urged the Chairman of IPAC to carry everybody along in all his dealings.
Adding his voice, the immediate past Chairman of IPAC Barr. Ignatius Hem said that he will not relent in supporting the new executive.
INEC representative in the person of Dr. Ijeoma Onyejiuba attended the meeting
