The Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has urged the Inspector General of Police, IGP Abubakar Idris to restore his security personnel which was unlawfully withdrawn by the state Commissioner of Police, Dasuki Galadanchi since the past two months.
Prince Madumere in a release signed by the Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor on Media, Uche Onwuchekwa stated that since the series of impeachment saga on the Deputy Governor, Governor Rochas Okorocha has employed all tactics to ensure that his deputy will not be comfortable in his office to discharge his functions as the number two citizens on the state.
According to the release, in the recent development, a memo with reference number HIS/S.29/S.1/t.3/1/807 signed on behalf of the Head of Service by Umelo K.O., dated 23rd October 2018, 12 members of the staff of the office of the Deputy Governor were posted out, both the operational staff and drivers. It also stated that the number two citizen of the state in strong terms has expressed fear over his security with the resolve of the Commissioner of Police, C.P. Dasuki refusal to restore his security aides.
It noted that the Deputy Governor recalled that since his acquittal from the impeachment plot in the High Court sitting in Owerri, there has been gross disregard to his office, such that some of the domestic staff have being approached to be used as agent of death to poison him, stated that the whole actions and inactions of the state government is suspicious and a well known high profile heinous crime like assassination.
The release which further stated that the major crime the embattled Deputy Governor had committed is because he has refused to support the act of the Governor who intended to impose his son inlaw as his successor, Mr. Uche Nwosu, at such they want him dead.
