Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, the latest Governorship aspirant to declare his intention to contest the 2019 gubernatorial election in Imo state under the All Progressive Grand Alliance [APGA] says that noneof the staff of the National Assembly who worked with him when he represented Okigwe Zone in the red carpert Chamber had left him since 2007 when he withdrew from the nation’s upper Legislative chambers in Abuja.
Giving a scintillating revelation on how he maintains the most formidable and almost infallible political structure in Imo State and even in Nigeria, while declaring his intention to fly the APGA flag in next year’s governorship election, Senator Ararume disclosed that he never allows anybody who works with him to suffer deprivations’ or want and always ensures that they are happy. According to him ‘followership is very important in every political dispensation. Every staff that worked with me in the Senate are still with me up till now. If I was not kind to them, they wouldn’t be following me up till now’. Adding that ‘if you are a member of APGA today and you have challenges which the party couldn’t solve, bring it to me’.
Ararume. Who is popularly refered to as the Agu Isiebu [a chieftaincy title given to him by his community, Isieubi in Isiala Mbano Local Government area] stated that he maintains a close relation with his political allies and coordinators even at the grass root level all year round since he became senator in 1999, adding that he does not abandon his supporters and loyalist irrespective of political tide, asserting that ‘ since 1998, I have a formidable political structure that is well organized. Now that I am in APGA, we have to put every resources available to us to ensure that the party achieves success in 2019’.
Question by a political Chieftain in APGA, Chief John Iwuala on is plan of action for Governor in 2019, Senator Ararume assured that his Administration will empower more women and youths to be productive and self reliant in their businesses and create the enabling environment for business to thrive in the state thereby drastically reducing unemployment. He explained that although it was not the businesses of Government to build industries and factories everywhere, his administration would establish a friendly environment that could attract big industries in the state, stressing the importance of direct and indirect investment in the economic development of every state.
Senator Ararume revealed that the state government had discouraged many big industrial concerns and foreign investors brought in by the Federal Government under its direct and indirect investment policy by placing too many conditionality’s on the, and making questionable monetary demands fro them, thus denying the people of the state of their benefits. He condemned the political succession insinuation where a son-in-law was being positioned to succeed the incumbent, describing it as ‘sheer madness’. Senator Ararume disclosed that he left the All Progressive Congress [APC] to join APGA because he hated injustice and detests a system which does not allow a level playing ground to all contestants.
