The top contender for Imo governorship race in 2019, Engr. Patrick Ohajianya has said that he will increase pensioners salaries by 20 percent as well as ensure that their salaries are paid as at when due if elected as governor of the State.
Ohajianya who disclosed this to newsmen on Monday, 21th of August, 2018, at Mavin Suit hotel, works layout, Owerri, the Imo State capital where he made his intention known to Imolites and supporters who trooped out en masse to listen to his listen to his manifestoes.
The Imo governorship hopeful declared his intention to govern the State on the platform of Young Progressive Party, YPP, where he made it loud and clear that he will introduce Christmas bonuses and leave allowances to Imo workers the very moment he is elected to govern the state in 2019.
According to him, I’ll change the Gov. Okorocha’s perspective Rescue Mission Government from “massive Infrastructural Development to Massive poverty Alleviation “.
Ohajianya promised to restore local government autonomy and offer 20 percent of the leadership position to women, maintaining that women will be given opportunity to harness their talents.
The YPP governorship aspirant informed that his government if elected will give the youth opportunity to contribute to the betterment of the State, pointing that he will discard the mentality of winners takes it all.
The former NNPC retired Chief engineer said that he restore peace and unity in the State, adding that football has been the only identifiable means of uniting the people of Nigeria and promised to set up community football competition where the over all winners represent their LGs.
The Ehime Mbano born technocrat said that the 27 champions from the local government areas plus the best losers making it 28 will proceed to the State for Imo champions leagues.
According to him, talented footballers that will be discovered will be sponsored abroad for trials which will help our youths to earn a living and change their mindset from activities capable of engendering their progress in life.
The man many have described as the best person to govern the State in 2019 listed some projects his administration will pursue if elected as the governor the State; construction of ultra modern Imo integrated intercity Garage complex, with over four hundred standard shops, construction of I’m state emergency fuel dump, construction of Imo block marketing industry in the 305 INEC wards, construction of Imo palm plywood industry.
Others includes; convert Imo shoe industry to Imo car Assembly plant, convert Ngo/Okpala to the most beautiful place to visit in Nigeria with the most beautiful lucrative farm settlement which would be called Imo integrated modern farm settlement, to complete, commission and equip Owelle’s medical centres in the 27 local government areas, to furnish the modern schools built by the present administration amongst and construction of modern stadium in all the LGs in the State amongst others.
Speaking further, a retired NNPC manager, Elder Samuel Ohanweh said that Engr. Pat Ohajianya if elected will improve the fortune of the state and enjoined the party members and leaders to see him as a man with the capacity to win the main election for the party.
Ohanweh assured the Imo governorship hopeful of his determination and resolve to continue to mobilize support for him, and promised to help ensure that Isiala Mbano people are solidly behind him ahead of the party primary election.
In his response, the State Chairman of the party, Hon. Victor Diala said that the Young Progressive Party is the party that have come to take over leadership in Imo state and Nigeria.
Diala posited that YPP is best positioned to take over Imo government area in 2019, assuring the party faithfuls that he will give a level playing ground for all the aspirants jostling to govern the state stating from House of Assembly, Federal House and senate.
He urged the ward and LGs party chairman to market the party in their various wards and communities, saying that the party have the ideology the suit the people of the State.i
