Okey Ezeh
The people of God have been urged to take active part in politics in order to bring the moral standards of God into the civic realm and to become agents for the fulfilment of God’s will on earth. The call was made by the National President of the Purgatorian Society of Nigeria, Mr. Okey Ezeh, during a chat with newsmen in Owerri shortly after a program of the Society, recently.
Ezeh, who also is the leading governorship aspirant in Imo State under the banner of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, said for there to be change in the course of civil government in Nigeria, Christians must rise up and get involved.
According to the Chairman of the Okechukwu Theodore Ezeh Foundation, the nation needs more and more Godly people who are willing to live by His ethical standards so as to retard evil and promote common good.
He lamented that politics, which should be the most potent tool for doing good, has been turned into an instrument for mass oppression because the arena has almost always been left for those without the fear of God. Ezeh highlighted that the whole essence of government is to ensure justice by aiding good men and coercing evil ones, and for the material wellbeing of the entire society, and averred that since true justice only springs from the Sovereign God, there can never be a just government without the participation of the children of God.
The accomplished banker insisted that the best government must be organized in the image and likeness of the heavenly city where divine authority intervenes and brings about peace, love, justice and concord among citizens.
He informed Imo people who have endured countless inhuman treatments by the extant government in the state that 2019 will certainly bring an end to their plight, even as he assured them that his coming into the gubernatorial race is driven by a determination to return the government to the people for the benefit of all and to the glory of God.
