The Spokes person of Dr. Iroegbu Njoku (Omenuko) the All Grand Alliance Party (AGAP) Governorship Aspirant in Imo State, Hon Chilaka has alleged that Imo State government destroyed Dr. Njoku’s billboards all over the state because of his rising profile and out of fear. He went further to posit that modern democracy allows aspirants to mount billboards, but in Imo state 80% of bill boards mounted are that of the Governor and his son-law, Hon Uche Nwosu. Chilaka went further to reveal that this situation portends danger to our nascent democracy and called on Imo stakeholders to rise up and challenge these anomalies to save other aspirants from this kind of humiliation. He further opined that the whole situation is laughable, unbecoming and slap to the psyche of Imolites.
Hon Chilaka also alleged that the vehicles belonging to Coordinators of Dr. Iroegbu Njoku campaign organization in Nwangele and Isu LGA’s of Imo were vandalized by the same government agents recently and warned that if this kind of development is not checkmated it could lead to open resistance by the affected aspirants and it will not augur well to Imo as a peace loving society. He therefore warned that monopoly of violence is not left in the hand of any person, no matter how highly placed.
He called on Imo Government to pay pensioners and complete work on roads destroyed in Owerri Imo State capital rather than going about destroying billboards and opponents vehicles. Chilaka further stated that Dr. Njoku joined the Imo Governorship race to redress the anomalies, sufferings, agonies and hardship which Imolites are passing through the APC led Government in Imo state. He said that Dr. Njoku has the capacity and ability to draw a new road map for Imo state, considering where he is coming from.
According to the Chilaka, Dr. Njoku is from Ogbe in Ahiazu LGA of Imo State. He did his primary and secondary school education in Imo State, before proceeding to Madonna University Okija-Anambra State. He holds a Ph.D in complex infrastructural change management from the University of Bradford United Kingdom. He is the CEO GG&M Consulting UK and founder FORWARDAGE Initiative, as well as consultant mega project reviews in the cabinet office of British Prime Minister. Dr. Njoku was former head of change portfolio PFG in UK, former Head of Planning PORTASILO United Kingdom, former president National Association of Imo State students, Madonna University, Okija Anambra State. Dr. Njoku taught in the University of Bradford UK and was former government II Academic of the NHS primary care centre practice in UK. He was the Director of programme that reduced food poisoning cases in Uk. He founded Omenuko foundation and forwardage initiative that has given succor to youths and helped in enlightening and empowering the youths.
Dr. Njoku has donated buses to Imo state University students to alleviate their transportation difficulties occasioned by the ban of keke last December by the APC led government in Imo State. He is known to have paid millions of naira to settle Hospital bills of patients who upon their discharge could not afford their hospital bills.
Dr. Njoku is a youth in his late thirties, well grounded, man of the people, youth favorite and a man who stayed in United Kingdom where common fund of people are used to touch lives of the citizenry. He will bring down his United Kingdom experience to Imo State, when he becomes the next governor of Imo State come 2019.
