The Eze-elect of Akwa Autonomous community in Oru East LGA, Imo State, Chief Aloysius Okwaraigwe recently gained victory in a judgment delivered by Hon. Justice P.U Nnodum of Mgbidi High Court, Oru West LGA, Imo State on case of alleged intimidation and restriction of movement of one Mr. Nnamdi Okwaraigwe from the same autonomous community. Mr. Nnamdi Okwaraigwe on one particular occasion set ablaze the premises of Mr. Johonbosco Okwaraigwe for a reason he could not properly explain to the court. When High Chief Okwaraigwe and Johnbosoco Okwaraigwe realized that their premises has been set ablaze they invited the police to arrest Nnamdi Okwaraigwe. When the police arrived Nnamdi was away and this prompted police to invite him for interrogation but failed0 and ran to court claiming that Chief Okwaraigwe is intimidating him and restricting his freedom of movement. When the case came up at Mgbidi court in Oru West LGA, Imo State, Mr. Nnamdi could not prove his allegations. The trial judge, Hon. Justice P.U. Nnodum after a critical study of the case condemned the attitude of Mr. Nnamdi for ignoring police invitation after a criminal act of arson and leveling an allegation against the monarch. Justice P.U Nnodum therefore, ordered him to obey the police invitation and pay N20,000 (twenty thousand naira) to the defendant as damages.
