A United States of America, USA based businessman cut philanthropist, chief Anderson Iheme, has formally declared interest to contest the Mbaitoli-state constituency’s seat in the awaited 2019 Imo State House of Assembly election on the platform of the All Progressives’ Grand Alliance, APGA, with a promise to transform Mbaitoli LGA socio-politically and economically, by way of effectively legislative oversight duties.
Speaking to newsmen, shortly after making his intention to run the state Assembly election public, on Monday, Hon. Iheme said that, Mbaitoli LGA, reputed as the most populous in Imo state deserves of larger chunk of democracy dividends, as he emphasized that, if given the necessary support by the good people of Mbaitoli state-constituency, he will prioritise primary healthcare service-delivery, access road network, provision of potable water, among other basic amenities elusive in the area overtime.
He further, informed that, his choice of APGA, as a political party platform in the race was a divine intervention to liberate the resourceful people of Mbaitoli from political and economic bondage and misrule by other political parties and individuals who handled the executive and legislative affairs of the LGA in the past.
He, disclosed that, party-politics has contributed in no mean measures towards the distingration and dislocation of vast potentials of the constituents, hence, according to him, the people continue to wallow in abject poverty and dearth of government’s presence to boost economic activities in the area.
Also, lamenting the negation of core Democratic principles and values orchestrated by political miscalculations by the APC-led government in Imo state, Iheme, who described the legislature as ‘pillar of democracy, posited that, the recent suspension of Mbaitoli-state lawmaker, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataraonye of the APC by the APC-controlled leadership of the IMHA was a rape of democracy and starvation of people of the LGA of the dividends of democracy and representative governance in the area.
Iheme, however appealed to well-meaning Mbaitoli constituents to rally support to his aspiration, with a view to redeeming the LGA from maladministration by marauders and selfish APC rulers, come, 2019.
