A gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Mr Frank Nneji has condemned the incessant attacks being unleashed on traders plying their trade along Douglas Road and around the now demolished Ekeonunwa market by thugs on the payroll of the state government.
Mr Nneji pointed out that these attacks have inflicted huge financial losses and injuries on the traders who are only trying to earn a living and support their families.
He said the traders were not criminals and did not deserve to be treated the way the government was treating them.
While reacting to information about the role of the police in these attacks, Mr Nneji welcomed the new Imo Police Commissioner Dansuki Galadanchi to the state and called on him to ensure that his men discharged their duties fairly, in a professional and patriotic manner without bias towards any party.
