In his bid to upturn the results of the Ward and Local Government congresses of his party, the All Progressive Congress APC which his camp lost woefully Gov Rochas Anayo Okorocha has literarily relocated the State Government House to Abuja.
Sources close the state seat of power told Nigeria Newspoint that the governor has been in the Federal Capital Territory for almost one week now, trying to see how to pull the rug off the feet of the Imo APC Coalition force which triumphed in the said Congresses.
It was further gathered that Gov Okorocha whose defeat in the congresses has elicited widespread celebration and jubilation across the state including in his own Ideato nation is not leaving any stone unturned in his effort to nullify the results.
Apart from personal efforts on his part, the governor is also said to be adopting so many other strategies to compel the leadership of APC at the national level to take a second a look at the process.
One of the strategies being deployed by the governor in this regard is the alleged contracting of mercenary protesters from different parts of the country to stage protests in Abuja.
Sources disclosed that apart from also the protest of Imo lawmakers the government has allegedly mapped out a huge chunk of cash with which he plans to buy protesters like the youths from Nasarawa State who equally protested at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, yesterday.
But, while the governors is holed up in Abuja fighting tooth and nail to have his way, analysts are concerned that not only has governance been relegated to the background but people also are worried that the scarce resources of the state are being frittered away on self serving political warfare.
For instance,it was alleged that over ten million was earmarked for yesterday’s protest alone and many are of the opinion that this amounts to unnecessary capital fight from a state that is doing poorly in many indices of growth and development, include Salary and Pension payments.
