Report making rounds had it that following the crisis rocking the Imo State chapter of the All Progressive Congress ,APC, some loyalists of the state governor, Rochas Anayo Okorocha are on the verge of joining the political camp of the governor’s arch rival, Sen. Ifeanyi Araraume.
It is gathered that the experiences of the last Saturday’s ward congress of the party in the state has thrown some of the Okorocha’s men off balance as a good number of them especially aspirants are making underground efforts to cross borders.
According to the report, one of the Rescue Mission apostles and 2019 Okigwe North Federal House of Representatives aspirant, Hon. Simeon Iwunze popularly known as Whiteman is allegedly considering dumping Okorocha’s camp for Araraume’s.
The report further availed that the said former Imo State House of Assembly member was allegedly seen at odd hours visiting and consulting Araraume’s men and close allies with appeals to smoothen his reconciliation and eventual return to the Isiebu born political war lord’s camp.
According to the same report, Hon. Iwunze was recently allegedly spotted at Eziama Osuma Anara in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area at the country home of one Dr. I. I. Anyadiegwu, an elder statesman and Sen. Araraume’s political mentor.
The alleged Iwunze’s visit to Anyadiegwu, former Commissioner in the old Imo State barely 72 hours after the APC ward congress according to the report is unconnected with his moves aimed at returning himself to the good books of Araraume.
This is coming barely two weeks a similar report had it the Isiala Mbano born Okorocha’s aide is also making advances to defect APC to another political party with aim to baost his chances in the forthcoming 2019 general election.
