Elected party officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Imo State at the ward LGA and state level were on Wednesday treated to a one-day workshop.
The nation a legal adviser of the party, Hon. Emmanuel Enoidem who represented the national chairman, described election as “all the steps, procedures and actions geared towards election during election and after election leading to electing a person into public office”.
He thanked God that the new leadership of the party is out to rebuild, rebrand and reposition the party with a clear intent of taking back power come 2019.
The state chairman of the party Chief Charles Ezekwem in his opening address stated that it is wrong for party officers to PDP in feel they were elected to work for a particular aspirant, noting that as executive members, they are supposed to put party interest first.
Furthermore, he charged them to ensure victory for 2019. Chief Ezekwem charged contestants to public offices to consult widely before purchasing nomination forms and to maintain decorum while campaigning within and outside the party pointing out that. Campaign should be without bitterness.
The workshop was instituted to address complaints by officials and they were advised to abide by the rules and regulations of the party even as they were urged to be disciplined and remain neutral towards aspirants of the party in the interest of fairness, equity and justice.
