Scores of youths from Okigwe zone recently protested at Imo Government House Owerri to inform Governor Okorocha that any attempt to foist Hon. Simeon Iwunze on them is an effort in a great haste which must unfortunately become a great waste for APC as they have unanimously endorsed Hon. Dr. Angela Uwakwe to represent them at the National Assembly in 2019.
These youths who stormed Imo Government House in their overwhelming numbers and songs of solidarity for Dr. Uwakwe, tried to overpower the guards to see e the Governor or the Chief of Staff, Hon Ugwumba Uche Nwosu but while the security operatives maximize efforts to control the crowd, the Imo Chief of Staff, Hon. Nwosu sent his special aide on political matters, Hon Ken. Ejiogu to negotiate peace and it happily yielded a mutual understanding between the and the solidarity youths.
Meanwhile, before the youths deserted, they hinted in black and white that due to an initial arrangement to endorse Dr. Uwakwe for Okigwe North, they have been keenly committed to the Rescue Mission policy and consequently, they have come to use this medium to appealed to the Governor not to upturn what they called an irreversible mandate for Hon. Dr. Uwakwem to represent Okigwe North at the federal House come 2019 and maintain that they have mandated Dr. Uwakwem to go to the National Assembly and display her gift of human right activism, defend the defenceless, become a voice to the voiceless and advocate for the masses at large.
They noted that Dr. Uwakwem is a woman who possess the courage and connections to perfectly sponsor good bills against weak laws, bring a process to fine tone obsolete and obnoxious laws.
The youths equally observed that Dr. Angela Uwakwe who has made so many exploits in politics, public service, special academic honors, international honors, leadership roles and associations, special recognitions Christian life and philanthropy also has a very rich and feasible manifesto that will guarantee employment opportunities, security, good health and the free education ideals of Governor Rocha’s Okorocha.
It would be also recalled that the masses have through the mass media houses, described Mrs. Uwakwe as a woman with foresight, vision, good dreams, confidence in God, and exceptionally hardworking. She is a giant in very many respects. Her insatiable drive for success has propelled her across several frontiers and made her a shining demonstration of what can be achieved when hardworking, perseverance, grit and intelligence are applied to seemingly insoluble problems.
