Apex leader of the Peoples’Democratic Party,PDP in Ifakala ward,Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo state,Prince Ogechukwu Ekerue,has expressed confidence that,the party shall clinch an all-round victory in the awaited 2019 governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
Speaking to Nigeria NEWSPOINT in his office,last week in Ifakala,Prince Ekerue,son of the traditional ruler of Ifakala Autonomous Community in the LGA of the state,said that,with the necessary arrangement on ground by the party’s State Working Committee,SWC,and with the efforts of the grassroot leadership of the PDP,the party will no doubt achieve victory at the polls,come,2019.
Ekerue further disclosed that,intraparty wranglings which rocked the party’s leadership and followership at the national and state levels has been permanently addressed,adding that impunity,lack of internal democracy among other anti-party factors have been eliminated in repositioning the party for greater efficiencies ahead of the general election.
Also commending the member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru in the National Assembly,Hon.Henry Nwawuba,leader of the party in Mbaike federal constituency for his landmark achievements which include;provision of potable water to communities in Mbaitoli and Ikeduru LGAs of the state,effective oversight functions on supervision of federal government projects in the federal constituency,and his support in the recent enlistment of seven Mbaitoli youths into the Nigeria Airforce and Navy,Ekerue appealed to people of Mbaitoli to support Nwawuba’s reelection bid.
He expressed confidence that Hon.Nwawuba will do more benevolence to his people,if,given the opportunity for reelection,as Ekerue,noted that,Nwawuba has performed creditably well,even in opposition party,PDP.
Prince Ekerue,however called on youths of voting age in Ifakala ward to make haste and obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards,PVC,in order to vote and defend their votes in the next year’s general election.
