A community leader from Amaimo, Ikeduru in Imo State, Sir Victor Obadiah, has reiterated the need for people of Owerri Zone, and Imo State in general to canvass support for the election of the Senator representing Owerri Senatorial District, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu (Sam Daddy) as next governor of the state, come, 2019.
Speaking with Nigeria Newspoint, weekend, while reacting to the decision by the senator to serve only one term in the senate for the seat of Imo governor in 2019, Obadiah, said Sen. Anyanwu is endowed with the divine gift of winning election by people’s mandate, adding that, as a go-getter, he was appointed TC chairman of Ikeduru Local Government Area, elected as chairman of the area by the people’s wish.
He further stated that, because of the acceptability of Sam Daddy based on his antecedents, the people of Ikeduru elected him as a member who represented them for two terms as former ranking member of the Imo State House of Assembly from where he was elected senator of Imo East Senatorial District (Owerri Zone) in 2015.
According to him, Sam Daddy forfeited a second term bid in the senate in order to hopefully contest and win the office of the governor of Imo State to correct anomalies of the past orchestrated by maladministration in the state, as he expressed confidence that Sam Daddy would win the awaited governorship election by divine providence.
Obadiah however, urged people of the state across political party lines to level unflinching support for Sen Anyanwu, and for the betterment of the state.
