The Mass Action Joint Alliance (MAJA party) Imo State chapter has successfully concluded her ward, local government and state congresses.
Speaking at the party secretariat shortly after his emergence Tuesday, the chairman of MAJA Party, Imo State, Hon. Reuben Obijiaku thanked party faithful for conducting themselves orderly all through the exercise. He also thanked the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, for their patience and understanding during the exercise.
Hon. Obijiaku assured that with the successful conclusion of the congresses, MAJA party in Imo was now poised to taking over Douglas House by winning the governorship election of the state come 2019, adding that the party has what it takes to compete with other political parties in the next election. Obijiaku therefore charged all members of MAJA Party in the state to work hard in order to ensure that the entire state collapsed into the party ahead of 2019.
Speaking also, the National organizing secretary of MAJA Party, Engr. Promise Marvelous praised the efforts of Imo MAJA Party especially, with the level of turnout of party members to the congress.
Engr. Marvelous expressed confidence that the party would win Imo in next year’s general elections while promising to take the success story of Imo MAJA Party to the Board of Trustees, BOT, and national working committee of the party in Abuja.
Speaking on behalf of the INEC team that monitored the congresses, Barr. Victor Nwokeobia disclosed that the constitution of the country empowers INEC to monitor all political parties including party congresses. He noted that all the electoral officers of INEC in the 27 LGAs of the state were present saying that INEC would provide level playing ground for contestants irrespective of political party come 2019.
In her own remark, the deputy state chairman of the party in Imo, Dr. (Mrs) Ngozi Nkemakolam from Isiala Mbano on behalf of the state exco thanked INEC and the national leadership of MAJA Party for their presence assuring that the party was now more than prepared to clinch power in the state.
Some of the members of the state exco of the party of the party who emerged among others include, Hon. Reuben Obijaku (state chairman), Dr. Ngozi Nkemakolam (Deputy State Chairman), Chief Cyril Nwodu (1st vice Chairman), Barr. Jude Ubani (2nd vice chairman), Mrs Victoria Ononiwu (State secretary), Mrs Uchenna Uzoho (state treasurer), Chief Chinedu Ejiogu (State Publicity Secretary), Barr Aloysius Osuji (Legal Adviser), and Mrs Esther Egbuna and Uchenna Ogbonnaya emerged state woman leader and youth leader respectively.
Meanwhile 27 LGA and 305 ward chairmen and their exco also emerged during the congresses with Comrade Noble Iyke Edoziem declared Ikeduru LGA chairman of the party among others.
