Imo Guber: Mbaise indigenes in USA back Osondu

As interests continue to mount on who succeeds Governor Rochas Okorocha in 2019, a daispora group known as All Mbaise USA has come out strong to support the governorship ambition of one of their own and medical expert, Dr. Lawrence Osondu.
The group, whose delegation met with Dr. Osondu last weekend in Owerri, the Imo State Capital said there was an urgent need for somebody like Dr. Osondu to come out and run for the number one seat in the state, promising that they would give him necessary backing to succeed.
The leader of the group, Crown Prince, Chibuzor Nwokodikwa, who led the delegation said their coming was a save-our-soul call on Dr. Osondu for him to use his wealth of administrative accumen to resuscitate and salvage the state from total collapse.
He noted that the economy of the state had been sick as a result of years of maladministration in the state, but expressed hope that with Dr. Osondu at the helm of the state’s affairs, the state economy would bounce back for good.
According to him, “We are backing you because of what you have done in the past. We recall that during your tenure as two-term president of All Mbaise USA, you promoted transparency and honesty in leadership and all these years, you gave your time to studying the Imo State political challenges. These and the fact that you are a grassroots leader and ex- secondary school class room teacher before you traveled abroad where you studied Medicine and Nursing and have done very well in that field”.
Prince Nwokodikwa further stated that Imo State at this trial period deserved the best by ensuring the election of somebody who will ensure job creation and employment opportunity to the teeming unemployed Imo youths, transparency a.
He disclosed that through Dr Lawrence Osondu a lot of Imo youths have got visas to travel both to America and other parts of the world, adding that his genuine contribution towards the upliftment of the down trodden including his yearly free medical missions both at his Lude Ahiara Community Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government area in particular and also at Imo Foundation in general where he has done much in leading free medical missions which has helped to reduc mortality rate in the state among others would speak for him at the appropriate time.
Prince Nwokodikwa stated that it was based on the consistent track record of performance that made the group delegate its leadership to show support to his ambition and assist him move the state forward.
Contributing a member of the delegation and a professor of Literature, Emeka Ihuegbu thanked Dr Osondu for accepting to run for the exalted seat and promised that they will also bring down home both their weight and wealth to ensure realization of the ambition of Imo governorship seat come 2019.
He expressed confidence that Chief Osondu as a tested and trusted person who has used both his wealth and profession freely for the interest of the poor masses will not disappoint the people when elected as governor in 2019.
Professor Ihuegbu therefore used the medium to call on Imo people who are eager waiting for the saviour to note that God has heard their cry, to support Dr Osondu in their collective ambition to make him the next Imo governor.
Responding, Dr Osondu thanked them for their support and promised to make known the political party he will use to achieve such an ambition and called on the group to always rally round him to help in moving the state forward.
